Trunk or Treat for 16 Park

Redeemer is reaching out to our neighbors at 16 Park apartment complex to build relationships with residents there. On Saturday, October 28, from 3:30-5:30 PM, we’re having a Trunk or Treat event in the parking lot behind Kroger, with snacks, games, prizes, face painting, and (of course) candy!

We need your help to make this happen, and we are hoping to see 75-100 Redeemer volunteers. (Costumes are encouraged!)

Volunteer needs include:

  • Set-up or clean-up team (bonus points if you have a truck or van)

  • Running corn hole, trivia, basketball, and other fun games for parents and kids

  • Face-painters

  • Community engagement (knocking on doors and passing out flyers)

  • 6-8 Trunk or Treaters (this would be a great opportunity for families or community groups who would like to dress up and hand out candy from their vehicles!)

We hope to reach 50 kids and 25 adults. If you have questions about the event, please reach out to Inga Hill or Warren Griffin.

Thank You Brunch for the Deacon

This morning the Deacon Team is having a brunch for the volunteers that serve on the Visitation Team, Neighbor care team, Meal Train Team, and Homebound care team.

For those of you that are on those teams, enjoy brunch in the Speck gallery at 10 am!

For everyone else, let's give a collective thank you to these folks—they're the ones that have volunteered to make you a meal if you need it, come to your bedside if you're sick in the hospital, bring you company if you're stuck at home for a prolonged time, or will provide relief for you if you're new to Redeemer.

Mercy Month Kickoff

Mercy Month is kicking off this Sunday. We are continuing last year’s focus on family preservation, adoption and foster care. Read on for more details about what the next few weeks will look like.

During the last two weeks of October and the first week of November, Redeemer’s deacon team will be engaging your heart with God’s heart for fostering and adoption, and how we can better care for foster and adoptive families in our congregation and in our city.

During both services today, Erin Hall will be sharing about the Deacon team’s work of mercy and justice, as well as introducing the organizations that will be giving informational sessions later in the month.
Resources for current and future foster and adoptive families will also be available! Be looking for an insert in your bulletin for more information on how you can be supported or get involved in the work of family preservation.
