Mercy Month | Special Offering
As a part of Mercy Month each year, the deacon team collects a special offering to be used for mercy and justice needs in the congregation and in the city. On Sunday, November 3rd, we will take up a special offering that will go towards the 4:8 Fund, a scholarship fund started by Redeemer that aims to eliminate barriers to mental health services by providing scholarships to people of color.
Visit our website to learn more about what God has been doing through the 4:8 Fund.
Freezer Meal Assembly Party
Join us for a meal assembly party at Mackenzie McQuay's house, where laughter and teamwork will come together to create nourishing meals for our community members in need!
This is a wonderful opportunity to make a tangible impact while enjoying the company of fellow neighbors and friends. Bring your aprons and spatulas as we assemble meals that will bring relief to those facing difficult times. Let’s come together and show our community the love and support it deserves!
Limited to five participants.
If you're interested in participating, please reach out to Julianne Vastbinder to RSVP or more information.
Trunk or Treat for 16 Park
Redeemer is reaching out to our neighbors at the 16 Park apartment complex to build relationships with residents. On Saturday, October 26, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, we’re having a Trunk or Treat event in the parking lot behind Kroger, with snacks, games, prizes, and (of course) candy!
We need your help to make this happen, and we are hoping to see 50 Redeemer volunteers. (Costumes are encouraged!)
Volunteer needs include:
Set-up or clean-up team (bonus points if you have a truck or van)
Running corn hole, basketball, and other fun games for parents and kids
Temporary tattoos
Community engagement (knocking on doors and passing out flyers, connecting with residents during the event)
6-8 Trunk or Treaters (this would be a great opportunity for families or community groups who would like to dress up and hand out candy from their vehicles!)
If you cannot attend, you can purchase individual packages of Fall-themed snacks and silly prizes for the kids who play the games from our Amazon list here!
If you have questions about the event, don't hesitate to get in touch with Julianne Vastbinder.
NWS Coat/Winter Clothing Drive
TThe NWS coat drive returns! Our church planting ministry is hosting another winter clothing drive for the children/families at Matchbook Learning, a K-8 school on the Near Westside of Indianapolis. This year, we are collecting coats for the whole family as well as crew neck sweaters for students (the only indoor warm garments allowed in the new dress code). One of the greatest needs children and families have at this time is adequate clothing to keep them warm. Many children walk to school or wait outside for long periods of time for their buses. Often, children are seen arriving at school without even the bare minimum to stay warm in these blistering cold months.
Can you support our ministry in this tangible way by providing either a new or gently used donation? We have created a wishlist with suggested items to make things easy. We will be collecting donations until December 1st. Donations can be dropped off at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning or mailed to:

Family Hope Info Meeting
This Sunday, Redeemer's deacon team will be hosting an informational session with a partner ministry, Family Hope. Family Hope is an Indy non-profit providing supportive relationships for isolated families through the temporary hosting of children and connections for parents. Join us in the Speck Gallery during Sunday school to learn more about how you can support them and get involved in the work they do!
If you have any questions please email Julianne.
Card Making Party
During the year, our deacon team cares for a number of individuals and families in tangible ways. Jenny Karraker, a Redeemer member, has led us in creating beautiful handmade cards for those in our church body who have been hospitalized, received a meal train, are more homebound, and more. These cards serve as a source of encouragement and help remind people that their church family loves them and cares for them.
Consider stopping by the gym during this Sunday's 10 am Sunday school hour to make a card that will be sent to various individuals and families throughout the year. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Backpack Bash (16 Park Backpack Drive Distribution)
Redeemer is hosting a back-to-school backpack drive for our neighbors at 16 Park (apartment complex behind the Kroger on 16th St). With this event and others to come, we desire to seek the prosperity of the city where we are exiled (Jeremiah 29:7) and display our church values of meaningful relationships in the community and creating beauty where we are.
Volunteer to help serve on July 28th from 3-4:30 pm at 16 Park. There will be opportunities to serve through backpack distribution, outdoor games, and general expressions of love and generosity.
If you have any questions, please contact Warren Griffin.
